The Cranimals Pet UTI Home Test Kit tests your cat for a Urinary Tract Infection. With an easy-to-read color chart that marks a positive or negative result, this kit can easily be used and has everything needed if you believe your pet has a UTI. The reagent strip on each testing device is intended for the early screening of UTIs, and helps to detect blood, leukocytes (white blood cells) and nitrite in your pet's urine. Urinary Tract Infections are usually caused by intestinal or environmental bacteria that enter and ascend the urethra, ultimately proliferating in the pet's urinary bladder. Some observable symptoms are:
Frequent Urination
Straining or crying out in pain when trying to pass urine
Inappropriate urination in places that are not customary
Strong urine odor
Vomitting

Suggested Use

Test procedures:
Tear open pouch and remove one of the test strips.
Remove the device from the foil pouch and remove the cap.
Immerse the exposed strip area in urine sample for 10 seconds.
Replace cap and wait 2 minutes.
Compare the test strip to the included color chart to read the results of your pet's test.

For Cats: Use the non-absorbent litter or clean gravel.
Non-absorbent litter instructions: Simply pour the litter into a properly cleaned litter box. Tilt to collect the sample in the corner of the tray by directly dipping the device into the urine for testing, or use the transfer pipette to collect and dispense the sample into a cup or container for further testing.

Results:
Negative Result: If the color of the reagent pad matches the color on the left column, also indicated as the NEGATIVE column, the test is negative.
Repeat the test every 3 months as preventative care for your pet. If symptoms persist even after a negative result, contact your veterinarian.

Positive Result: If the color (s) of any or all reagent pad match the color on the right columns, also indicated as the POSITIVE column, the test is positive.
A positive result for any or all parameters is an indication of a Urinary Tract infection. Contact your veterinarian immediately.
